Meet Sophie<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sophie Smith-Brody is an actor, singer, and musician from Manhattan, NYC. She is currently pursuing her BFA in Musical Theater at Rider University (Class of 2021) and is a graduate of LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and the Performing Arts (The \u201cFame\u201d School).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sophie was raised on the Upper West Side of Manhattan by two parents with careers in the arts. From the moment she could speak, she constantly begged to go to her dad\u2019s studio to \u201csing into the thing that makes your voice louder\u201d, and had learned her first scales on the piano by age 2. She spent her summers at the French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts \u2013 which she initially attended solely because of the fact that they had horses \u2013 but inadvertently fell in love with musical theatre. This led Sophie to audition for and eventually attend LaGuardia Arts HS as a Vocal Major, and finally ended up at Rider University to receive her BFA in Musical Theatre. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sophie is the second closest living relative to Anne Frank, which cultivated her passion for social change. She spent her teenage years touring NYC with her grandmother, \u201cOma\u201d (Anne\u2019s second cousin and friend), speaking on her experience as one of the last Holocaust survivors and advocating for a world based on mutual respect. Some of the most impactful events she spoke at included a panel of 30 Holocaust survivors at the Anne Frank Center in NYC, and a special premiere of the Emmy award-winning documentary, \u201cHe Named Me Malala\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her free time, you can find Sophie working at Lululemon as the MIRROR Lead, walking for miles on end around the city, or looking for the newest extravagant flavor of ice cream to try.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
